NJICL Needs-Based Scholarships
Application Deadline: March 31, 2020
The New Jersey Interscholastic Cycling League is committed to making sure every student-athlete has the opportunity to participate in all events, regardless of their financial situation. Thank you to the many league donors for contributing to the league’s scholarship fund.
Due to the limited amount of scholarship funding, we must ensure that the student-athletes who receive financial support commit to participation with their teams by attending 80% of practices or more and taking part in at least two of the league’s weekend events in the spring. If awarded a scholarship, you or your student-athlete should be prepared to write a letter explaining how the financial aid benefited all involved. Your identity will be kept confidential for all matters pertaining to scholarships.
Any scholarships issued by the NJICL will be in the form of a reimbursement check after fees have been paid in Pit Zone, unless otherwise agreed to by the League Director. Scholarship applications for the NJICL All Access Pass must be submitted by March 31, 2020.
Our scholarships are based on your family’s eligibility for the National School Lunch Program (NSLP). Typically, and subject to availability of funding, scholarships are awarded as follows:
- NSLP Free Lunch: Scholarship covers 80% of NJICL Fee ($240 towards All Access Pass, you pay $60)
- NSLP Reduced Price Lunch: Scholarship covers 60% of the NJICL Fee ($180 towards All-Access Pass, you pay $120)
- Anyone not eligible based on the above criteria will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Scholarship applications for any camp, clinic, or other state event, must be submitted two weeks prior to that event.
Scholarships are available for student-athlete NJICL All-Access Passes and all NJICL camps, and will be considered for coaching fees as well.
Please complete the form linked here. We will review your application and get back to you as soon as possible about the level of scholarship support we are able to offer to you.
